We are YOOL, a Vienna-based independent film collective founded by Liliya Timirzyanova and Jonathan Meiri in 2025. We work across fiction, documentary, and essay film. We are drawn to intimate stories that search for light and resilience in times of personal and political rupture.

Curious to experiment, we create films ranging from observational documentary to surreal, non-linear fiction. Often shaped by a female gaze and queer sensitivity, our films explore themes such as identity, vulnerability, memory, belonging, and the search for meaning. With roots in music, we bring a musical sensitivity to image, sound, and editing, giving particular care to rhythm, silence, and the role of music within each film.

The first collaboration, Centro di Gravità Permanente, premiered at the Venice Film Festival (Giornate degli Autori) as part of the Laguna Film Lab programme. Our current projects include fiction, documentary, and hybrid films made between Austria and Greece.
